Bio
Adam Reist’s career in the entertainment industry has
spanned over two decades. Adam has directed three short films; the
critically acclaimed Supertalk starring Kathleen Chalfant
and Billy Crudup, the award winning Back to One and
the award winning The Last Lunch. Adam co-produced all
three films and co-wrote Supertalk. He most recently was a
Director on CBS's daytime drama Guiding Light where he directed
over sixty episodes. Adam
is also a producer/director for independent commercials and videos. He directed
The Future of Media for Procter and Gamble’s
Upper Management Team. Adam is a lecturer at Yale Drama and has guest
lectured at Pace University and
the Lee Strasberg Institute. Adam is the Guest Director for Celebrity
Placement Services. In 2008 Adam was the Show Runner for Emo-4
an experimental interactive web series on NetStudio.com.
Before becoming a Director, Adam worked as a Stage Manager and Assistant to the
Executive Producer on Guiding Light. He has performed on and
produced three CDs with his band Twist of Fate. Adam wrote most
of the original material on all three CDs. In 1986, while attending the University
of North Carolina, Adam created the college soap opera General
College which was picked up by the National College Television
Network (NCTV) and broadcasted nation wide. To this day, twenty-three years
later, General College remains in production and re-runs still
air in Charlotte and Chapel Hill, NC. Adam was a member of the 2004 DGA Award winning Outstanding
Drama Series Directing team and 1994
Daytime Emmy winner for Outstanding Drama Series Directing Team. Adam is a
member of the Directors Guild of America, the National Academy of
Television Arts and Sciences and The University of North Carolina’s
Order of the Golden Fleece.
